Terms of Service — Spark

1. Welcome
Thanks for using Spark — Reflective Planner for Managers. These Terms are the agreement between you and Gift for Managers ("we," "us") covering how you use the Spark app, the web app at app.giftformanagers.com, and the printed planner.
By using Spark, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. Who can use Spark
You need to be 16 or older to use Spark. By using it, you confirm that you are.
3. Your account
When you sign up, you give us your email and choose a password. Keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for anything that happens through your account. If you suspect your account has been compromised, write to hello@giftformanagers.com.
4. Your reflections belong to you
The text you write in Spark is yours. We don't claim ownership of it. We don't sell it. We don't use it to train AI models. Section 3 of our Privacy Policy covers where it lives and who can see it.
You can export your reflections any time by writing to us. You can delete them and your account from Settings → Account → Delete account.
5. Subscription
Spark offers two paid plans:
Monthly: US $5 per month, billed monthly. Auto-renews until cancelled.
Annual: US $39.99 per year, billed annually. Auto-renews until cancelled. Includes additional content delivered after week 13.
A 3-day free trial is available to new subscribers. You will not be charged during the trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins at the price shown above. We will send a reminder email one day before the trial ends. (Apple and Google also send their own reminders to subscribers on their platforms.)
You can cancel any time from Settings → Account → Manage subscription, or through your Apple, Google, or Stripe account, depending on where you subscribed. Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Prices may change. We'll email you at least 30 days before a price change affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
6. Bonus annual content
If you subscribe annually, you will receive 13 additional weekly stories after you complete the first 13 weeks. These are written by us and delivered through the App. You do not get them if you only subscribe monthly. If you switch from annual to monthly mid-year, you keep access to the additional stories until the next renewal.
7. AI features (bring your own key)
Spark can summarize patterns in your reflections using an AI provider you choose (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Mistral, or OpenRouter). To use this, you supply your own API key. We never see your key — it is stored on your device, encrypted.
When you trigger an AI summary, your text is sent to the provider you chose. We are not responsible for what that provider does with the request, and you are responsible for the cost of using your provider's API.
8. What you may not do
Spark is for personal reflection. Please don't:
Use Spark for anything illegal.
Try to break into Spark, scrape it, or reverse-engineer it.
Resell access to Spark, or share your account with anyone else.
Use Spark in a way that disrupts other users.
We can suspend or delete your account if you do any of the above.
9. Refunds
For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds are handled by Apple and Google according to their policies. Write to them, not us.
For subscriptions purchased on the web through Stripe, you can request a refund within 14 days of your first payment, no questions asked, by writing to hello@giftformanagers.com. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.
The free trial is your chance to try Spark without paying. Please use it.
10. Changes to Spark
We change Spark often — new screens, new features, sometimes removing things that didn't work. We try to make these changes good ones. If we materially reduce what's included in your paid plan, we'll let you know and you can cancel and get a pro-rata refund.
11. Things we cannot promise
Spark is provided "as is." We try hard to make it work, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or free of bugs. We are not liable for any loss of your data — please back up anything you cannot afford to lose.
Spark is a managerial tool, designed to support reflection and growth in your work as a leader. The reflective practice it supports is for personal and professional development; it is not medical, psychological, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for therapy or any professional service. If you are facing a personal or mental-health difficulty, please consult a qualified professional.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to Spark is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Termination
You can stop using Spark and delete your account any time. We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. If we terminate your account, we will refund any unused portion of a prepaid subscription unless the termination is for fraud or abuse.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Quebec, unless local consumer protection law in your country says otherwise.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect. By continuing to use Spark after the change, you agree to the new Terms.
